  • Kanger Valley National Park is a protected forest area located near Jagdalpur in the Bastar district of Chhattisgarh.
  • The Chhattisgarh government has intensified efforts to include the park in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
  • Once approved, it will become the first site from Chhattisgarh to receive UNESCO World Heritage status.
  • The park covers an area of about 200 square kilometres and lies in the Eastern Ghats–Central Indian highlands region.
  • It is well known for the Tirathgarh Waterfall, limestone caves, dense forests, and rich biodiversity.
