• Viveck Goenka, chairman and managing director of Express Group was elected as Chairman of Press Trust of India (PTI). N Ravi, former editor-in-chief of The Hindu was elected vice-chairman.
• Press Trust of India (PTI) is the largest news agency in India. It is headquartered in New Delhi and is a non-profit cooperative organisation. It provides news coverage and information of the regions in India. Press Trust of India is the only news agency in South Asia which operates its own communication satellite, an INSAT satellite, to broadcast news and information.
