- The Uttar Pradesh state government has given the nod to shoot the man-eating wolf/wolves at sight in Bahraich.
- The state government has also declared it a 'Wildlife Disaster' affected area.
- The state government has launched 'Operation Bhediya' to address the issue comprehensively.
- Under this operation, drone cameras and thermal drone mapping techniques are being used by the Forest Department to catch the wolves.
- The Chief Wildlife Warden can allow hunting of a Schedule I wild animal if it poses a danger to humans by issuing a written order explaining the reasons.
