- The Government has issued a tender of Rs 50,000 crores to build six conventional diesel-electric submarines under this project.
- The tender has been issued to Larsen and Toubro and Mazagon Dockyards Limited.
- These submarines will be bigger than the Scorpène-class submarines.
- Scorpène are being built at the Mazagon Dockyards Limited, Mumbai.
- Project 75-India is one of the largest Make in India project.
- It is being undertaken to protect the Indo-Pacific region.
