- The snowfall occurred around November–December 2025 after heavy rain and hail.
- The event was caused by a cold weather system moving from the Mediterranean region.
- Temperatures dropped close to 0 degrees Celsius, allowing snow to settle on desert sand.
- Snow was reported in parts of Al-Jawf, Al-Nafūd desert, and areas near the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
- Northern highland regions like Tabuk receive winter snow, but snowfall in Al-Jawf interior deserts is extremely rare.
