- Assam Cabinet passed a resolution to set up a Skill University at Mangaldoi in Assam.
- The University is to be set up with financial assistance from Asian Development Bank.
- It is the first skill university in the country.
- Around 80% of the seats are to be reserved for students of Assam and 20% for North Eastern states.
