The Special Campaign 5.0 was launched by the Government of India with the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances as the nodal department.
The campaign aimed to institutionalize cleanliness drives and reduce pendency in government offices across the country.
As of 24th October 2025, 4.95 lakh cleanliness campaign sites were covered under the Swachhata (cleanliness) campaign.
Ministries and Departments freed 130.54 lakh square feet of office space and earned Rs. 377.8 crore revenue through scrap disposal.
A total of 5.45 lakh public grievance cases were redressed, and 17.48 lakh physical files were reviewed, out of which 7.25 lakh files were weeded out.
The campaign reviewed 12.99 lakh electronic files and gained significant social media traction with over 13,000 tweets, 200 infographics, and a reach of 36.7 million people.
