- Telangana has become the 14th state to join the mineral auction regime by successfully bidding out two limestone blocks.
- These auctions come eight years after the Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) (MMDR) Amendment Act, 2015 first defined this framework.
- The other additions to the mine auction regime are Tamil Nadu and Arunachal Pradesh where the centre has conducted bids for critical minerals.
- A total of 81 mineral blocks have been auctioned across 13 states, including the critical and major minerals.
