- IAS officer Jalal Srivastava has been appointed the chairman of Inland Waterways Authority of India (IWAI). IWAI comes under the Ministry of Shipping, Road Transport and Highways.
- Srivastava is known for launching of “Shakti Cab” and “URJA” project for women.
- Israel’s Cabinet approved Amir Yaron as the next governor of the Bank of Israel (Central Bank of Israel) for 5 years. He replaced Karnit Flug, who became the first woman to hold the post when she took over in 2013.
- The Appointment Committee of the Cabinet has named the IAS officer from West Bengal cadre Sumanta Chaudhuri as the new Coal Secretary. He replaced Inder Jit Singh.
- The Appointment Committee of the Cabinet has appointed the present Director of the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA), Upma Chowdhry, as Secretary, Department of Youth Affairs.
