- Pakistan has successfully test-fired a land-based ballistic missile named ‘Shaheen-II’. Shaheen missile series is named after a Falcon species that live in Pakistan’s mountains.
- It is a land-based supersonic intermediate-range surface-to-surface guided ballistic missile capable of hitting targets up to 1,500-2000 kilometers. It is thus capable of reaching major cities in India.
- The Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Council of Foreign Ministers meet was held in Kyrgyzstan capital Bishkek. It was attended by External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj.

- Changsha 5712 Aircraft Industry company under state-owned Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC) has delivered the first overhauled multi-role JF-17 Thunder fighter jet to the Pakistan Air Force (PAF).
- In 2007 Beijing delivered its first batch of JF-17 to Pakistan. Since the 1990s American-imposed arms embargo, China has been the main supplier of arms to Pakistan.
- The Vice President of India Venkaiah Naidu Inaugurated 'Tree Ambulance' in Chennai on the occasion of the International Day for Biological Diversity (IDB) celebrations. The Tree Ambulance initiative is a campaign to save trees.
- According to its founder K Abdul Ghani, it has been conceived, designed, fabricated and equipped to provide first aid treatment to trees, aid tree plantation, assist the shifting of trees, carry out seed ball distribution etc.
- The South African lawmakers on May 22, 2019 re-elected President Cyril Ramaphosa for another term.
- Ramaphosa is the leader of the African National Congress (ANC).
