  • The Border Security Force (BSF) of India and the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) signed a Joint Record of Discussion at the 48th Director General (DG)-level talks in Dhaka, Bangladesh to implement the Coordinated Border Management Programme (CBMP).
    • They will increase the coordinated patrols to prevent cattle and narcotics smuggling, educate the border population about the sanctity of International Border (IB) and prevent criminals from crossing the IB.
  • In addition to English and Hindi, the Uttar Pradesh government plans to issue press release in Sanskrit.
  • In an environment-friendly initiative, the Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) constructed its first plastic waste road according to guidelines set by the Central Road Research Institute (CRRI).

  • In the FIH (Federation Internationale de Hockey) Men’s Series Finals hockey tournament 2019, India thrashed South Africa with 5-1 in a summit clash at the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar, Odisha.
    • With this win, India is placed in the top five of the FIH World Rankings.
  • Indian professional squash player, Joshna Chinappa won the national squash title for the record 17th time at the 76th Senior National Squash Championship, 2019 held in Pune, Maharashtra.
  • The three-time Olympian Brady Ellison defeated Malaysia’s Khairul Anuar Mohamad in World Archery championships finals.
    • India ended the campaign with one silver and two bronze medals in the women’s compound team and individual events.
  • According to a study conducted by Randstad Employer Brand Research (REBR), e-commerce player Amazon India has been rated as India’s most ‘attractive employer brand, followed by Microsoft India which emerged as the runner-up.
