- The Ministry of Defence approved procurement of 26 defence items to boost “Make in India” initiative.
- This was done through the amendment of Public Procurement Order 2017.
- The Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami on May 19th laid the foundation stone for the construction of a government medical college at Perumbakkam in Tiruvallur district.
- While 60% of the funds for this would be borne by the Centre, the remaining by the State government.
