- Delhi saw the highest number of deaths (48) due to rabies in the country in 2022.
- West Bengal saw 38 deaths, followed by Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Maharashtra at 29 each.
- Union Health Ministry had launched the National Rabies Control Programme (NRCP) for prevention and control of rabies.
