The Geographical Indications (GI) tag application fee was reduced from ₹5,000 to ₹1,000 to promote traditional tribal goods.
The Tribal Business Conclave in New Delhi announced export, e-commerce, and international warehouse support for tribal products.
The event was organised by the Tribal Affairs Ministry, Culture Ministry, and the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT).
GI tag certificates were issued for items such as Kannadippaya bamboo mat, Apatani textile, Marthandam honey, Lepcha Tungbuk, Bodo Aronai, Ambaji White Marble, and Bedu and Badri cow ghee.
