- It aims to raise awareness and advocate for the value of healthy rangelands and sustainable pastoralism.
- 2026 also declared as the International Year of the Woman Farmer (IYWF 2026).
- It will raise awareness and promote actions to close the gender gaps and improve women’s livelihoods worldwide.
- UN also declared 2026 as the International Year of Volunteers for Sustainable Development (IVY), to promote and recognize volunteerism as a significant force for sustainable development.
