World Day for International Justice 2025 - July 17
- It is observed to commemorate the historic adoption of the Rome Statute in 1998 and the establishment of the International Criminal Court (ICC).
- The ICC was created to prosecute the individuals responsible for the most serious crimes of concern to the global community.
- This observance promotes global accountability, honours victims, and reinforces international cooperation in the pursuit of justice.
- Currently, around 125 countries are States Parties to the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court.
- Ukraine became the 125th ICC State Party on 1 January 2025.
