World Neglected Tropical Diseases Day 2026 – January 30

  • The day aims to create awareness and accelerate efforts to control, eliminate, and eradicate Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs).
  • The day was first observed in 2020 by the WHO.
  • NTDs are a group of preventable and treatable infectious diseases affecting poor and vulnerable populations.
  • About 1.4 billion people required NTD interventions in 2024, a 36% decline since 2010.
  • As of 2026, 58 countries have eliminated at least one NTD, and the WHO targets 100 countries by 2030.
  • The theme of 2026 is “Unite. Act. Eliminate”.
