- The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has declared 2019 to be the “Year of Tolerance.”
- It highlights UAE as the Global Capital of Tolerance, instilling the values of co-existence and peace in local, regional and international communities.
- Earlier, the country had announced 2018 as the “Year of Zayed” and 2017 as the “Year of Giving”.
- In November 2018, a World Tolerance Summit was held in Dubai.
- The Year of Tolerance will focus on “Five Pillars”.
